Her dissertation entitled, ''The University’s Role in Scientific Decision Making, The RDNA Controversy'', was a seminal yet important work exploring the role of corporatism on the growth of the fledging science of genetic engineering. Cited as part of the publications at the Institute Archives of MIT, it is frequently used for reference. Working as a consultant in Washington, she left to join the Archdiocese of Miami as both instructor and literary arts coordinator. She has been a recipient of NISOD Award for Teaching Excellence, the Blockbuster Entertainment Corporation Endowed Teaching Chair; and recently, she was nominated to Who’s Who of American Teachers, a recognition she received from her students.
